Kabaka Foundation Academy – UK & Ireland

The Kabaka Foundation runs the Kabaka Foundation Academy, a vocational training school for underprivileged children and youth in Uganda. The academy currently accommodates 60 children, aged 5 to 18, who come from the slum areas of Kampala city. These children are either orphans or extremely needy. Despite their young age, many of them support their families by collecting scrap and used plastic bottles to sell. Sadly, some also turn to risky activities like robbery and prostitution to earn money for food and other basic needs.

The Kabaka Foundation academy is an initiative of the Kabaka Foundation that is designed to ensure that these children acquire the necessary skills to engage in safe economic activities and achieve self-sufficiency. The academy offers training in basic tailoring, art and crafts, mechanics, shoe making, hair dressing, welding, and carpentry. The Foundation seeks and engages sponsors to fund the education and training of these children until they are able to support themselves.

Out of the 60 children that have been identified from the slums of Kampala city, 10 have been attached to UK and Ireland for sponsorship, while the remaining 50 have sponsors from friends and well-wishers of the Kabaka Foundation locally (in Uganda), in the USA. We invite the people of UK & Ireland to sponsor these children by contributing financially towards their education and training. By adopting a child, and sponsoring them through school, you help them rise from hardship to achieving their dreams and becoming self-sufficient. Together, we can change the story of slum children; from grass to grace through acts of love and kindness.
